This home weather station is carved to faithfully replicate a typical mountain chalet, complete with a gabled roof with stylized tiles and a chimney. At the center of the scene, under the porch, two figures in traditional mountain attire – the Büebele (boy) and the Madl (girl) – serve as humidity indicators. Their movement, visible on the central balance, is the heart of the hygrometric function: when the air becomes dry, the male figure moves forward; with the arrival of humidity, it is the woman who takes center stage. A vertical thermometer positioned in the center completes the instrument. The sculpture is enriched with meticulously hand-painted details, such as the hearts carved on the shutters and the gable of the roof, the small deer, and the stylized pines at the base. The colors are warm and natural, dominated by the brown of the wood and forest green, evoking the authentic atmosphere of the Dolomites. This precious creation is handmade in Val Gardena. Given its size of 16 cm, the main structure and figures are expertly carved from fine Maple Wood, known for its fine grain that allows for detailed workmanship and a velvety finish to the touch.
