Playing is also a way for children to learn to regulate emotions. The emotion flashcards introduce children to and teach them about emotions in a playful way. They are a handy tool for educators to start a conversation about emotions. The set consists of 12 double-sided printed A6 cards with the emotion and accompanying text on one side. The other side only shows the image. The 12 emotions are recognizable for children: happy, nervous, shy, cheerful, insecure, angry, scared, mad, sad, surprised, in love, and proud. The drawings are intentionally simple to reduce distraction from bright colors and 'imperfect'—the heads are not exactly round. I did my best to create drawings that hopefully many children can relate to. I found this super important! The emotion flashcards have a beautiful appearance because they are printed on sturdy 295-gram PaperWise paper, which is made from recycled agricultural waste.
