For five generations, the Alemany family has been crafting artisanal nougat and selecting honey from the best beekeepers. The history of Turrones y Miel Alemany begins at the end of the 19th century, when Mrs. Mundeta made a candy with honey and local nuts. Since the Montsec is a rough and difficult terrain for cultivation, this activity proved to be a good alternative for them. The distinctive feature of Alemany nougat is due to a 19th-century recipe that gives the paste a characteristic white color. Slow cooking, locally sourced nuts, and a very selected rosemary honey are part of a secret that gives the nougat a particular flavor.
