This vendor charges well over retail prices. Does not belong on Faire. I made the mistake of not checking prices against Amazon......which were HALF of the prices Split Shops was charging. Shameful. Feels like a scam. Not wholesale. They claim Faire charges them so much that they have to charge more. Don't believe it. Check this vendors prices against Amazon before buying.

Hi Anne, thank you for the feedback, and I'm sorry this order let you down. We offered a full return and refund the same day you contacted us, and that offer stands. You are right that our price on this title was too high. The publisher's list price is $31.00 and we charged $33.48. That should not happen on a wholesale marketplace, and the book has been removed from our Faire catalog. Our own cost on this title is $23.25, which is more than Amazon's $21.92 retail price. Some publishers give smaller distributors like us almost no discount, and Amazon sells those books for less than the trade pays for them. Do Not Purchase!! These are not wholesale prices. They should not be allowed on Faire. Black & white amateur photography. Some books look like they were photocopied and then bound. One book we paid 9.70 for had a retail price printed on it for 8.99. Absolutely no margin.

That's a merchandising and pricing error, not a policy, and we're auditing the rest of the catalog for the same problem. Thank you for catching it. On print quality: alongside the major publishers we carry small press and specialty titles, and a few of those are produced to a lower standard than our listings made clear. We will make it clearer on those books that they are independent publishers. On margin generally: our catalog is deliberately broad, which means we stock titles that reach us at little or no discount so retailers can source everything from one account instead of five.
