How to Brew Great Smoky Mountains Single origin Brazilian dark roast coffee is exceptionally forgiving and performs beautifully across all brew methods. French press is the natural home for Great Smoky Mountains — brew at 1:12 ratio at 200°F with a 4-minute steep to fully develop the smoky depth and dark chocolate richness. For drip, a medium-coarse grind at 1:14 produces a bold, full-bodied cup with a smooth, clean finish. As an espresso, Great Smoky Mountains pulls a commanding shot with a natural dark chocolate sweetness and a thick, satisfying crema.
