Welcome to Gooseberry Designs! Our studio is dedicated to good design and beautifully made products. We specialize in hand-drawn maps + illustrations for any occasion, in addition to our line of Home + Paper goods. We believe that style + the environment go hand in hand. We source high quality, eco-friendly materials for our hand-crafted goods, which we design and make in our studios in charming Camas, Washington and Saratoga, California. It's Easy Being Green! My daughter inspired me to start Gooseberry when she was born (20 years ago). So, I put my scientific career on the shelf and raised my daughter and my business. People often ask me if I miss being a scientist and I always answer the same way: I’ve never stopped being a scientist! Being a Mother and a Small Business Owner requires experimentation, imagination, trial and error and gumption. They are the hardest jobs I’ve ever had, but I’m so grateful to do what I do. Like any business we have had our ups and downs and learned a lot through this wild journey we have been on. Today, we are 3 generations of women, working and creating together along with our fantastic team of 3 employees. Every day in the studio is different...and always fun! In Spring of 2025 we celebrated our 20th year in business and opened a new studio in lovely southwest Washington, the very place where our business got its start, two decades ago.
