Hand carved Soapstone Narwhal Whale. 7.5" x 3.5"" x 3.5" Hand carved in Kenya, Africa by a group of artisans that is a self help group that also supports an orphanage and pays for education of school children. Carved from Soapstone - a soft rock. Dyes are natural and plant based. As each one is handcrafted by a group of artisans, minor variations in size, color and designs may occur. As the light blue dye is semi transparent, if the soapstone has natural colors, they made bleed through. This is natural and the colors can be pinks, tans or light brown spots or streaks. The blue color comes from Indigo plant leaves and stems.
