About Kendrick Home
All Kendrick Home handcrafted signs are made to order. For over 40 years, right here in Iowa, our passion has been creating meaningful pieces that turn houses into homes. Our designers transform a real wood by-product from our forest product operations into artful decor that carries warmth and beauty into everyday spaces. Each sign is built from genuine 3–4 inch wooden shim boards, carefully framed together by hand. Because every board has its own unique wood grain and character, no two pieces are ever the same—your sign will always be one-of-a-kind. These natural details aren’t flaws; they’re what make each piece authentic, personal, and enduring. We’re proud to keep our work American-made and rooted in sustainability: every product is crafted from locally sourced, responsibly harvested wood that would otherwise go to waste. In every design, the story of the wood becomes part of the story of your home. The Truth About Seams & Backs of Our Signs Because our signs are crafted from real planks—not one flat piece of MDF or pressed board—you’ll always see natural seams where the boards meet. These seams are not cracks or damage; they’re proof that your sign is made from authentic wood. On the back, you may also notice the joint lines or framing. This is exactly how true plank-built wood construction looks: sturdy, intentional, and part of the craftsmanship that makes your sign unique. These natural details are what make your piece one-of-a-kind.
