THE STORY Bozo, the famous clown who graced our TV screens on WGN from 1960 all the way until 2001, was a true Chicago icon. As children, we yearned for a chance to win prizes by throwing a ping pong ball into his coveted Bozo Buckets, and many of us in the Chicagoland area were lucky enough to do just that. As far as clowns go, he’s the real deal. At one point, he was so popular that there was a 10 year wait for studio audience tickets. Throughout his stint in the spotlight, he made lots of local friends, including former mayor Jane Byrne, who are immortalized on this tee together sharing a cigarette.
