Winkeleigenaar, Ashley Eaton woonde SUNY New Paltz bij en werd meteen verliefd op de kunst van het metaalsmeden. In 2006 studeerde ze af met een BFA in Metal. Na in het veld te hebben gewerkt met productie en als bankjuwelier, verlangde Ashley ernaar om haar eigen sieradenontwerpen te maken. In 2008 sloot Ashley zich aan bij mede-SUNY New Paltz aluin en beste vriend, Emily Sajban, om hun fysieke juwelierszaak Torch Song Metals te vormen. Na 5 glorieuze jaren geïnspireerd te zijn door en samen met haar beste vriendin te hebben gewerkt, verhuisde Ashley haar studio naar Chicago, IL om in 2013 bij haar man te zijn. Zo werd Ivy & Gold Handcraft opgericht in de stad wind en is sindsdien verhuisd naar Syracuse, NY in 2015.
