Scalandrino: Vermentino Maremma Tuscany DOC “Scalandrino” is the name of a rustic ladder that farmers used to climb over hedges and fences. This smooth and fruity wine is the result of an accurate selection of our Vermentino grapes. After a soft crushing the grape juice is stored in oak casks to ferment. Five months of aging in French oak barrels follow. This light touch of wood exalts the typical scents of the Vermentino vine. The 'scalandrino' is a rustic scaleo that farmers used in the past to climb over hedges. The soft body and the fruity and persistent bouquet are the result of a careful selection of our Vermentino grapes, which after a soft pressing are placed in French oak barrels where fermentation takes place. The elevation in the wood lasts for five months. This process ensures that the aromas of the grape are enhanced by the light touch of oak.
