A personal note from Bonnie: I spent several hours out in our pasture one August morning, just following this mother cow and newborn calf around. Keeping my distance of course, I sat quietly in the meadow grass just enjoying the playfulness of this new baby, and watching her drink milk from her mom for the first time. It's amazing how keen animal instincts are, just moments after they are born.
