Giuseppe Baj, who developed the Milanese panettone industry all over the planet, won the award for best panettone producer in Milan at the International Exhibition of 1887. Based on known information, Panettone Baj is the oldest existing panettone brand. Today, production has restarted by direct descendants Tomaso and Cesare Baj.
