Isuke is a Kyoto-based lacquerware company with a heritage of over 190 years. Originally established as a urushi (natural lacquer) merchant, we have continued to specialize in traditional Japanese lacquer and lacquerware, blending time-honored techniques with contemporary design. Since 2006, we have participated in international trade shows introducing our handcrafted products to a global audience. In 2014, we launched our original brand, “isuke”, which reimagines the beauty of traditional lacquerware through simple and modern forms. Each piece is designed to highlight the rich colors of urushi, the natural texture of wood, and the refined elegance of traditional decorative techniques.
