When I first came over to France with Emmanuel my then fiancé, I was appalled by the piles of post-gift wrappers. Such a magical event to be tarnished by this ugly sight the day after. Something needed to be done ! The solution seemed evident. Growing up in Asia, the Furoshiki art of folding fabric had always being part of a silent habit. I remember my mum wrapping up lunch-box tiers in tea towels, and articles were kept in folded fabric. But are they not too bland, too ethnic for my fellow parisien friends ? This day, I know that we have to try to convince everyone into a furoshiki 2.0. I created Carédeau ® as a movement to popularise this easy and responsible way to wrap gifts.
