Description
This set of incenses is a collection for a year and a day of ritual! Samain, Yule, Imbolc, Ostara, Beltane, Litha, Lammas and Mabon incenses are pacaged into 1/2 oz. vials to use in celebrations and rituals of the eight pagan Sabbats, or just to enjoy during that time of the seasons. Samhain is the pagan Sabbat otherwise known as Halloween, All Saints Day, Dia de Los Muertos, celebrated on October 31st to November 11th, depending on the tradition. This incense is to honor the dearly departed as well as to protect the incarnate living from any bogies or phookas may have made it across while the Veil Between the Worlds is thin. Many people also use this incense as a funeral incense. It is sweet, sultry, and mysterious. Samhain incense is attractive to spirits; discarnate and noncarnate forms of beings, but its nature is to feed and propitiate these entities, thus preserving a bond and a boundary between the worlds. Samhain incense is powerfully activating to the Third eye, so it can be used to make us more sensitive to messages and communications from the Beyond. Most people find its smell to be comforting and fascinating, as Death is Itself. For this reason, Samhain incense is helpful to resolve and honor the grief process, no matter what time of year it may come to visit. Yule is the pagan and secular holiday also known as Christmas and Winter Solstice, usually on or about December 21st. This incense is bright, cool and crisp with evergreen tree resins, frankincense, gold and myrrh (where gold is orange peel in this case!) and redolent with holiday baking spices. Burn Yule incense to bring a holiday cheer to your household. People will appreciate a departure from the fakey smells of Christmas candles and other artificial holiday synthetic fragrances. The resins have a lingering scent that is very pleasant and will build up if you use it on a daily basis. I hope Santa Claus can smell it for miles away! Imbolc, or Imbolg, is the pagan Sabbat on or about February 2nd. This holiday is also known as Brigid, dedicated to the Goddess Brigid, and in other places, we call this holiday Candelaria or Candlemas, or Ground Hog's Day. Use this incense to accentuate any ceremony or ritual to honor this day, and to celebrate the growing light. My Imbolc incense is not like any other recipe you may come across. I wanted it to come out white in color, since Imbolc is often celebrated with white and milky colors for the birthing of lambs. I wanted it to smell bright and fresh for the newness of the Sun and the growing light.
