The Little Sparrow and the Chimney is a children's fairy tale for ages three to nine, translated into Italian with the English text on the facing page. The little sparrow is looking for a place to spend the winter and thinks the chimney is the right place, but when he enters it he begins to fall, gets covered in soot and ends up in the living room of a house where a cat sleeps peacefully on the sofa. He is in danger, but keeps his cool and as soon as the door opens he manages to escape. Looking back, he realizes he made a mistake but does not see it as a failure because he knows he has learned an important lesson. Through the use of storytelling and NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) the child is taught that there are no mistakes, only experiences and feedback. The little sparrow indeed makes a serious mistake that puts him in a difficult situation, but by staying calm and using his intelligence he manages to get out of it. The authors – The English Sisters – are Violetta and Jutka Zuggo, two English sisters, born in London and currently living in Rome, specialized in theories of indirect hypnosis, Ericksonian psychotherapy and NLP. Over the years the Zuggos have developed their own method of teaching the English language by combining NLP techniques and Ericksonian hypnotic conversation.
