Each Mortar and Pestle set is truly a work of art. They are a beautiful addition to any gourmet kitchen. Intricately grained and made from Salvaged Teak roots, our mortar and peslte are beautiful, durable, and coated with a food safe blend of organic beeswax and mineral oil. The mortar has a diameter of approximately 5 inches and height of 3 inches. We can engrave on either the mortar or pestle if you like. Tuckahoe Hardwoods was started by brothers George and Johnny Dent in 2004 out of an old farmhouse on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. After developing our business here in Maryland, we started some sustainable forestry projects in Indonesia, where we now own and operate our own shop, using only sustainably harvested wood for all of our products. Production is started there, and everything is finished at our workshop in Easton, Maryland.
