About Ombre Claire

As designers and artisans, we have been committed to sustainable fashion since 2006. Ombre Claire was born from the deep aspiration of its founder, Aude Durou, to unite her work as a designer with her ethical convictions. All our jewelry is designed in our Paris studio, then handcrafted by artisans in the Sahara Desert, Mali, and Niger, who carry ancestral know-how. These lands have been familiar to Aude since childhood, through her father, a photographer and historian of the desert. Ombre Claire has established an ethical charter and built strong, lasting partnerships with them. Today, the brand enables 30 artisans to make a living from their craft and to share their talent with the world. Our commitments: > We use recycled materials, including 999 sterling silver, bronze, acacia wood, and ebony wood sourced from repurposed offcuts. Vermeil — made from 999 silver gilded with 5 microns of 24-carat fine gold — as well as gold plating, is done by a Parisian artisan. > Our artisans work within a cooperative, where they set a fair price for their work every year. > Our jewelry is designed to be repaired for life.
