In her grandmother's kitchen, Ariel listens to stories passed down from generation to generation while they prepare sweets called Alegrías. Amid the aroma of coconut, cinnamon, and molasses, her grandmother talks to her about their roots and a family history marked by slavery, but also by struggle and the freedom won.
