Colors and patterns vary from one stone to another. A legend tells that in the 15th century, in a gallery located on a mountainside, miners discovered with astonishment bouquets of mineral flowers, petrified plants in various colors. They decided to name them "iron flowers." In reality, aragonite was discovered in 1609 by Anselmus Boëtius de Boodt, a famous mineralogist. He named it "stillatitius lapis." Its appearance in the form of flower bouquets with more or less long points, brown, blue, and green colors, is said to be the origin of this nickname "iron flowers."
