The matcha broom made from 100% golden bamboo is indispensable for the traditional preparation of matcha tea. It is ideally moved in a Z shape to combine the matcha powder with the water. The bamboo broom (Chasen) is handmade from a single piece of golden bamboo and has 80 struts. Matcha tea can be stirred quickly and easily and whipped until frothy. Each broom is handmade and unique. Only bamboo that is at least 2 years old is used for the production. Suitable bamboo pieces are cut lengthwise. To make the struts, the inner material is removed. 80 thin struts are now separated from the firm skin. A thread, which is attached to the end of the struts, provides the necessary grip. The other end of the struts is screwed in with a knife and ground. As a result, the Chasen is not only robust, but also offers the fine matcha powder barely any chance of settling on the surface.
