There is no adrenaline rush quite like having a big tom put on a show in full strut right in front of you. This old tom was harvested by Sam in Spring of 2023 in Nebraska. We spent some long mornings and evenings pushing our luck running and gunning some stubborn birds. We spent one long evening in a stalemate with this bird in an open field. He came out of the woods about 200 yards away; & when he started strutting our we thought it was going to be picture perfect. This old bird strutted his way towards us only slowing down to gobble until he hung up about 80 yards away where he stood in full strut - as the King of Spring, he was sure his hens should put the effort in to come to him.
