Horse Racing season will be here before we know it and this little silk abaca piece is just the ticket. We draped fuchsia silk abaca in a swirly pattern onto a sinamay base. The hat is attached to a headband for easy wear and the headband is adjustable as it is attached via a tube of ribbon that is sewn to the underside of the base. All very technical but the point is that it is very easy for your customer to wear and adjust the angle of the hat to suit her look. Silk abaca is a relatively new millinery fabric. This vibrant material is made by weaving the processed stalks of the abaca tree, a banana palm from the Philippines, through silk. It catches light beautifully and is lightweight. The final touch is a dyed to match pheasant tail curled by hand. This piece is so easy to wear and looks great on most. You may want more than one color. Message us for options.
