The Bissap called the African hibiscus flower “hibiscus sabdariffa” has a slightly acidic taste. Very popular in West Africa (Senegal), and in Egypt (Karkadé), Bissap contains vitamin C, it is also given diuretic and tonic properties. Bissap is commonly used in the preparation of herbal teas and refreshing drinks.
