Description
Authentic, natural and a piece of the Moroccan soul Beni Ouarain rugs have a spirit and a character. It is a reflection of the daily lives of the women who make it. Most vintage Beni rugs are cream (ivory) in color, although differences in tone are found depending on the color of the sheep. They are considered the most prestigious rugs in Morocco, made from the very best wool. This unique rug has a beautiful Beni Ouarain wool base. But, as a twist, it was characterized by berber ladies from the Boujad region and an unusual boucherouite design was added. Pieces of cut cotton clothing (recycled) were woven into the wool base in a soft, neutral color palette. Not just any recycled fabrics were used... The cotton is imported from Italy and very high quality - used by a Marrakchi designer to make trendy kaftans, Leftovers are bought exclusively by our contact, zo make this kind of mixed technique rugs. We ordered several of these unique pieces because we love the style and unusual combination of materials and traditions * the cream wool is hand-knotted and combined with cotton recycled textiles * beautiful, discrete shades of grey, soft burgundy, brown, yellow and beige bring depth to the rug * the rug has been sundried for several weeks to soften the color scheme * one of a kind * 2m35 x 1m80 PLEASE NOTE: THIS RUG IS NOT MADE BY MACHINE. EACH PIECE IS A HANDMADE ITEM BY MOROCCAN ARTISANS, SO THERE MAY BE SLIGHT IMPERFECTIONS IN WEAVING, PATTERN, OR SHAPE. ALL VINTAGE OR OLDER ITEMS HAVE HAD A PREVIOUS LIFE. AS THESE RUGS WERE NOT ORIGINALLY MADE FOR RETAIL THERE MAY BE SLIGHT WEAR AND REPAIRS. WE DO NOT SEE THESE AS IMPERFECTION, BUT THE LOVE AND STORY BEHIND EACH PIECE.

After receiving your initial message, we explained the artisanal, hand-knotted nature of this rug and how slight irregularities are inherent to traditional loom-made pieces. Unfortunately, we did not receive any further reply. Had we known that the disappointment was this strong, we would of course have gladly advised you to contact Faire customer support to arrange a return, should you have preferred not to keep the rug. Our collections consist exclusively of handmade, one-of-a-kind pieces, where each knot reflects human craftsmanship rather than machine perfection. This is exactly what many collectors and retailers value — though we fully understand that this aesthetic may not suit every store or customer.
