Hemp is an all natural fiber that's a win-win for the environment and your skin. Our hemp covered sponge is extra exfoliating, washable, and hemp is compostable and biodegradable. Some shedding is normal and hemp tends to become naturally softer over time. The reason hemp is so tough as an all-natural fiber is the fact that the fiber is made up of a large portion of silica (sand), withstanding the test of time and ultimately able to biodegrade back into sand. We recommend that you machine wash your sponge (gentle cycle) and air dry between uses.
