Often I wonder where the stories must come from, who's woven the words into the pages in my hands. They read like memories of lives and loves lost, of dreams made so delicate and then bound to these shelves. And though I leave bookmarks in all the books I have started, I find myself beckoned and then lead astray. As night settles in, with only the light of fireflies to guide me, I sometimes worry that their endings will be left forgotten on a faraway shelf.
