The Metamorphosis is rich, deep, and fantastically relatable to even non-insects. There are innumerable interpretations of the work, but the work's exploration of unanswerable alienation is the distillation of Kafka's writing and continues to resonate with readers. Instead of an insect, our design uses a drawing of 'the thinker' from Kafka himself. Our chosen Kafka's Metamorphosis quote contrasts with the pondering figure and highlights the desire to sleep to forget. The smallness of human thought set against the scale of overwhelming mechanical institutional complication runs throughout Kafka's work - granting us the term Kafkaesque. The classical 'thinker' has no place in the modern world and is relegated to doodle hastily drawn between work shifts.
