With time, handloom products were replaced by machines. People started leaving and finding alternative livelihoods. To revive the handloom culture using natural fibres (organic) , natural dyes and create  a sustainable model  the Rural Livelihood Mission implemented a program in collaboration  with the United Nations (UNDP).  The program worked with 37 artisans to help develop a range of products that were inspired by the mountains using natural dyes like turmeric, LAC (derived from the secretion of insects yielding shades of red ) , leaves and flowers, (thus the earth tones ) .  Your purchase is an important part of this process to keep this revival thriving.  Made from natural organic fibers.
