Rooibos comes from a shrub whose name means “red bush” in Afrikaans. This bush only grows in South Africa, as it needs a specific climate and soil to thrive. Contrary to its nickname “Red Tea”, it is not a tea and it does not contain theine/caffeine. Rooibos has a rather mild flavor, even without adding sugar and its infusion is red/brown.
