Vintage illustrations compiled by 50 Watts + collages by Samplerman (the mysterious pseudonym of popular underground French artist Yvan Guillo) / 128-page paperback, illustrated throughout / printed offset by Marquis in Canada and published in June 2025 / barcode on back / no printed price This book is the second volume of a new book series focusing on early-to-mid-20th-century Japanese illustration, drawn from our collection and from archival sources. In April 2024 we released the first volume, The Frogs, which exceeded sales expectations and required a second printing. I'm slightly scared of bugs but I'm not afraid of the cartoonish creations featured here. (Though I was surprised I found so many of them hiding in my collection of obscure children's books.)
