Description
This is a handmade black and white lino print of an Oss, a creature that is closely associated with May Day / Solstice celebrations in Cornwall (including Mazey Day in Penzance, from which this particular Oss takes its liking from), as well as Wales (similarities with the Mari Lwyd). It features a horse's skull with its crown of flowers and flowing ribbons. A perfect blend of atmospheric folk stories and symbolism. Please note that each print is unique! Some might be more textured than others, or have small differences from the one shown, as this is a handmade item using a hand carved lino in a hand press. Size: approx. A3 (29.7 x 42 cm / 11.7" x 16.5") Each print is signed. Open edition. Available on different papers (depending on availability): - Premium art paper - a natural white lightly textured paper - Khadi paper, a handmade heavy paper rag, with a deckle edge - Lokta paper - a handmade light, textured paper, with specks throughout - Mitsumata Washi Paper - traditional Japanese Washi Paper, with a deckle edge Important: All prints are unmounted and unframed unless otherwise stated. All prints are shipped flat and come packaged in a bio-degradable, compostable cello bag and a cardboard mailer to ensure safe delivery and display.
