'Chrysanthemums in Happiness Jug' by Susie Hamilton. These long lasting flowers symbolise friendship, happiness and wellbeing. They are a sure sign that autumn has arrived and will often flower until Christmas time. For years Chrysanthemums were out of fashion and I wanted to embrace this by painting them in the style of a 1970s floral fabric. Since their renaissance, so many beautiful colours and varieties have appeared and I love these bouncy blooms! The jug is based on a Sunderland Lustreware design, I loved recreating the tiny leaf and petal pattern.
