Our humble bamboo starts its life as a seed in a natural regeneration forest in the Chinese province of Sichuan. This subtropical ecosystem is the natural environment for bamboo, and it thrives here. The fastest growing plant on Earth can grow up to a metre tall in one day – you can literally watch it grow with your own eyes! Within a few months it is ready to harvest, all without the use of any fertilisers or pesticides. Once harvested, the bamboo is pulped, refined and turned into an eco-friendly straw, superior to its paper-thin competitors in every way. All waste products are collected and recycled.
