Wholesale Handwoven Carry Bag

Take your journey onward and upward with this handwoven bag. Woven by remote coastal women in Fiji; it features a double-layer-wide weave with canvas handles and a petite hanging pocket inside for your phone and keys. The bag is open on the top (does not have a closure flap). Approx. 40H x 35W x 9D cm. or 16H x 14W x 3.5D in. About the Artisans & Production Process: Coastal partner communities produce handwoven pandanus bags. These forms can be easily stacked for transport on horseback or bundled together for transport by boat. Upon arrival at our office, the handwoven bags are re-shaped, trimmed, and varnished before sewing the hand-painted canvas straps, and attaching the buckles with an industrial machine. Soft leather is cut by hand and hand-stitched onto the bag. Through the production of pandanus bags, women learn multi-dimensional weaving techniques providing an opportunity to beginning and mid-skill weavers to access a market for their handwork. Our Studio Collection team manages the leather finishing work, providing professional job training opportunities to youth from our rural partner communities, including persons with disabilities.
