Description
A Traditional Folk Toy with Great Old World Charm. The small village of Bogorodskoye has long been the most celebrated centre of wood carving in Russia. Villagers have been selling wooden toys to pilgrims trekking to the nearby Holy Trinity Monastery for hundreds of years. Clever toys depicting animals in humorous activities have been age-old favourites. The toys have moveable parts, so the animals come to life upon command. Hold the toy by its handle and move it in a circle so that the pendulum swings and you can make a bear play the piano, a mouse knit, or chickens peck.
