Made from our Vermont, Fancy grade, wood fired maple syrup, maple cream is pure syrup boiled to 232 degrees, cooled, and stirred, forming a smooth, intensely maple spread. Pure Vermont Maple Cream is a delicious spread made from our wood fired maple syrup, right here in the sugarhouse. In the spring, the maple sap runs, drop by drop, from the wild, native maple trees. The sap is gathered, and boiled over a wood fire, taking an average of sixty gallons of raw sap to produce one gallon of maple syrup. Throughout the year, we further boil down the syrup, cool it, and stir until it forms a silky smooth spread with intense maple flavor. That's it ~ just the sap form the maple tree! Maple cream can be spread on sticky buns, toast, biscuits, fruit, doughnuts and nuts. Maple cream should be stored in the refrigerator or freezer.
