This book explores the cosmology and origins of the Maori of New Zealand. It sheds light on linguistics and other cultural living artifacts that explore a historical progression of migration. The book makes a case that the Maori people likely arrived in New Zealand after 1200 AD, and presents evidence that suggests their culture is much older, possibly tracing back to the archaic Göbekli Tepe site in Turkey built around 10,000 BC. Author Laird Scranton compares Maori culture and language to Göbekli Tepe, showing shared cosmological concepts and linguistic roots with Dogon, ancient Egyptian, ancient Chinese, the Sakti Cult of India, and the Neolithic culture of Orkney Island.  Scranton also highlights shared creation concepts, word pronunciations and meanings, and possible connections to Biblical terms and traditions.
