It is a woven fabric made with a jacquard loom, with several warp beams and different shuttles for the weft. From French (pronounced goblin), it takes its name from the Gobelins Manufactory, which produced splendid tapestries in Paris since the 17th century. The different warps and wefts, in different colors, combined with the possibilities of the Jacquard loom, produce very complex and detailed designs, with possible relief effects, and give rise to a very showy fabric, with a heavy consistency, resistant to wear. The yarn used is cotton and polyester, of different sizes, very thin in the warp, and more robust in the weft.
