CLP Labelling for Dog Products in the UK In the UK, dog products, especially those containing essential oils or active ingredients, must comply with CLP (Classification, Labelling & Packaging) regulations. These rules are in place to ensure transparency, responsible formulation, and the safety of both your customers and their dogs. At a minimum, your label must include Any allergens Your business name, address, and telephone number Relevant warnings The weight or volume of the product Importantly, this information must be attached directly to the tin itself, external packaging like boxes or bags is not sufficient. While it may sound like a lot, you’ll see from the product images that fitting this information on the label is totally doable. An ingredients list isn’t required, but I like to include one where space allows. Smaller tins (like the 15g size) have limited room, so if you need to include a barcode, you might not have space for ingredients. Larger tins, however, offer plenty of room for all the necessary details.
