Once you have ground your coffee this tool allows you to easily and consistently tamp your coffee grounds perfectly preparing for extraction. This tool has a collar and is spring loaded, so that the outer collar sits flush with the portafilter meaning tamping is always level, and the ridges allow better distribution of the hot water during extraction.
