About Maria Lopes

Maria Lopes bags are designed and hand-made in Porto. Maria has been working in the fashion industry for more than 30 years, such as her family for three generations. She has collaborated with brands such as Kenzo, The Kooples, IRO Paris, Hartford, APC, Paul & Joe, Agnes B., Hoss Intropia, Pablo, Gerard Darel, etc. We use sustainable materials, responsible sourcing and ethical manufacturing. Our mission is to bring beauty and inspiration to every woman through our products. Our products: a single bag may take between 6 to 16 hours of work, a labour of love. Every bag is entirely handmade in the artisan's workshop, exclusively with local materials and techniques that trace back to at least two centuries of local artisan's legacy in Porto. Maria Lopes privileges typical Portuguese materials and techniques such as cork, handwoven organic reed, full vegetable tanned leather, embroidery, ceramics and others. We focus on sustainable and durable fashion, respecting the artisans, the suppliers and the environment.
