About Makenzie Kurz Art

Through the fluidity of watercolor and the precision of ink, I translate memory into imagery. My work revisits core moments from my past, weaving them back into the present through symbolic landscapes and objects. Each piece serves as both a reflection and reconstruction - a way of preserving memory while allowing it to transform. By blending the softness of watercolor with the permanence of ink, I explore the tension between what fades and what remains. Makenzie Kurz (b. 1991 Fredericksburg, Virginia) received a B.F.A. in painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design, Savannah, GA in 2016 and holds an A.A.S. degree from Virginia Western Community College. Kurz’ paintings use watercolor and ink to transform core memories into symbolic landscapes and objects that explore how moments fade, endure and connect us all. She has exhibited internationally in Lacoste, France and nationally in Savannah, Georgia. Recognized in student exhibitions and local news station as an “Up and Coming Artist”.
