858 The Label was created in 2020 but our dream and inspiration started in 2017 by our founder Chelsea Mapes with a mission to help bridge the gap of health and wellness and fashion. When you feel good you look good. We aim to build confidence from the inside, outside. As an athlete, Chelsea went to college in New York, to play D1 lacrosse. She saw a huge gap in the styles of clothing that were available to women who were athletic and had all different body types as well as a gap in the education of overall health and wellness. “As a D1 athlete I saw a lot of misguided information of how to fuel your mind and body in this industry. For women athletes we are pictured to have a certain body type and feel the pressure to look a certain way. Which can lead to a lot of people developing unhealthily expectations from this. It is unrealistic and unhealthy to have these images of what you “should be” just because you are an athlete. Thats why I am so passionate about incorporating health and wellness with feel good designs to make anyBODY feel confident and sexy.” She realized she was recommending so many different brands for her friends that why not create her own brand where she can personally design items that will build confidence, and promote a strong, healthier life. 858 the Label’s collections and products are designed to help everyBODY feel sexy, strong and confident. We pride ourselves on sustainably made bikinis for you and the ocean.
