About Lulu & May

Hello! My name is Lubita Ibrahim, and I am the owner of Lulu & May! I am a 22 year old single mother to my 3-year-old named Rumaysa. My shop name comes from our personal nicknames- Lulu and May! I started this shop at the end of November 2020 desperately looking for a hobby to fill my time with. I was on a semester off of school for teaching, and wasn't feeling motivated or inspired. I was longing for something to put all my effort and passion into. I can confidently say that opening this shop changed the entire course of my life. I initially started by uploading digital products like planners and art. Then i decided to take my art one step further and began to make stickers! I loved the entire "business" aspect of it. I feel like experiencing packaging orders and hearing their feedback lit up a spark within me. I felt like this was the path that would make me the happiest. I enjoyed making people feel happy and seen by expressing themselves through my art and products. I loved the feeling so much that I decided to switch my major from teaching to business. I am one semester in and so grateful for changing. I am learning so much information that I am implementing into my business. I really hope to expand my business and have my products being sold in multiple outlets. It would be an hono to have so many other individuals express themselves with my products. Our motto is "Creative crafts that speak to you" because I believe every product we have is bound to relate to someone. Read their story
