The Fratepietro family has been dedicated to agriculture for more than a century, I owned very large plots of land throughout the Cerignola hinterland, which has more than 60,000 hectares. They led the fields with the most varied crops, from olive trees to vines, from durum wheat to Senator Cappelli. The oldest document preserved is a deed of donation from 1890 (hence the date in the logo) through which Andrea's great-grandfather received the land on which our company stands today. After graduating in law, Andrea, who now runs the company, decided to devote himself entirely to the family business, returning to the land and starting the transformation business with his father Giovanni. This small team is joined by Valentina, Andrea's wife, who after graduating in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technologies. The core business is represented by the Bella di Cerignola olives, a variety of table olives, which grow and mature only in the countryside of Cerignola, a PDO known as “Bella della Daunia”, reaching exceptional dimensions for a set of pedoclimatic conditions that favor its growth: a terroir that is affected by the proximity of the Vulture, an extinct volcano that insists a few kilometers away in the near Basilicata, the influence of the sea on the opposite side, a temperate but breezy climate. All Fratepietro brand products are produced and packaged at km0 on this humus.
