About UP North Roast

Most hobbies UP North usually include fishing, hiking, kayaking, and even making maple syrup–ours was roasting coffee. In 2013 we started roasting our recipes with an old popcorn popper in our hometown in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. After sharing it with our friends and family, we saw the demand for quality small-batch coffee rise like the Great Lakes after the snow melts. As a small family-owned business in Escanaba, Michigan, we focus on giving our customers the best freshly roasted coffee beans on the market. Since our start in 2013, we have always roasted only what we need, meaning our beans go from roaster to your cup in a matter of days. Our husband and wife team are the only roasters at UP North Roast. This guarantees a consistent quality roast in every bag–never burnt, always flavorful. And our high barrier, ziplock-sealed bags preserve the freshness of our coffee for long-lasting enjoyment. What started as a hobby has now become a full-time gig thanks to our loyal customers who trust us to start their day off right. Although we have become a household favorite in Michigan, one thing hasn’t changed; we’re just a couple of Yoopers who enjoy roasting quality coffee.
