I started The Maple Den in 2021 to satisfy my desire to create and love of pretty things. I love creating gorgeous one-of-a-kind naturally dyed silk ribbons. It brings me joy to contribute to your wedding and add something unique and handmade to your special day. Cleaning If you need to wash your silk I recommend washing by hand at room temperature or cold water, with mild soap and hanging to dry out of direct sunlight. pH changes may cause tonal changes in the silk. Ironing To remove creases and wrinkles iron with a hair straightener on medium/high heat or between 350F and 400F (make sure the straightener is clean and free of hair products) You can also iron with a hand iron. Fraying The ribbons are torn by hand and frayed slightly to give a soft feathered look. If a thread on the edge of the silk becomes loose you can either trim it with scissors or pull the whole thread free along the edge of the ribbon. Hand Torn Ribbon The silk ribbons torn by hand will have a slightly frayed edge with a soft feathered look. If a thread on the edge of the silk becomes loose you can either trim it with scissors or pull the whole thread free along the edge of the ribbon. Bias Cut Ribbon Bis cut ribbon is cut on a diagonal at a 45-degree angle Has a cut edge and will not fray, meaning threads will not come loose, but it can have a feathered edge if you rub the edge with your finger The bundle dye bias cut ribbon won't have a feathered edge as it is cut by hand by me after dying
