About Kempadoo Millar Headwear

Kempadoo Millar Headwear is an ethical luxury headwear brand which specialises in creating contemporary style flat caps and baker boys. The company is based un Yorkshire, UK, the home of woollen textiles and manufacturing. For 10 years we have built our brand from a kitchen table business to a brand worn by the likes of Idris Elba, Prince Charles and Anthony Joshua. Our caps have sold in 37 different countries from Bahrain to Barbados- Peru to Poland. Founder and designer Rhian Kempadoo-Millar uses her 20 years training as a costume designer for carnival and theatre to add colour and flair to the humble classic Yorkshire flat cap. Inspired by her Scottish/Jamaican fathers swagger and colourful flat cap collections Rhian decided in 2013 to inject some fun and excitement back into this look while ensuring the provenance and ethics remained at the heart of the brand. The fabrics and cloths are all sourced locally within Yorkshire, Great Britain from textile mills in the region. The caps are manufactured in Castleford, Yorkshire, which has a long history of manufacture including the world famous Burberry factory.
